Peppa Pig Theme Park

Located in North Richland Hills, Peppa Pig Theme Park has become a popular destination for families with preschool-aged children. Six Flags Over Texas

In Arlington, Six Flags Over Texas opened for the season on February 28, offering thrill seekers access to various roller coasters and rides. A spring special is available for Gold season passes, reducing the price from $99 to $70. This pass includes free parking and access to all Six Flags and Schlitterbahn parks in Texas. While the new Tormenta Rampaging Run won’t open until later in the year, visitors can view the progress on the tallest, fastest, longest, and only giga dive coaster in the world. The park is open daily during spring break at 11 am.

Meow Wolf

Located in Grapevine, Meow Wolf’s experiential art exhibition offers an engaging experience for families. During spring break, March 14-22, they are adding an extra activity called Brain Bean Buddies. Using the Meow Wolf app, families can explore the exhibition with a photo scavenger hunt and crack a plant-themed crossword. Completing the activities can earn prizes and highlight the growth of creativity, nature, and imagination. The exhibition is open daily at 9 am.

Fort Worth Stockyards

Throughout March, the Fort Worth Stockyards will host weekly rodeos on Thursdays-Saturdays, and the occasional Sunday, at Cowtown Coliseum. With the first weekend of spring break almost coinciding with St. Patrick’s Day, they’ll also put on the annual Cowtown Goes Green celebration on March 14, featuring live music, armadillo races, lawn games, pony rides, an Irish-Western parade, and more.

Fort Worth Museum of Science and History

The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History is unveiling its newly reimagined TCU Children’s Gallery in time for spring break. The gallery, which has been closed for renovation since last fall, now features interactive spaces and hands-on experiences that teach young children to use their imagination, cooperate with others, and step into the roles of doctors, farmers, performers, and more – all in a Fort Worth-themed environment. It is designed for children up to age 8 and their caregivers.

Spring Break Kick-Off Party

Families can celebrate the start of spring break on March 14 with a special event at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. The event features hands-on crafts and activities, a chance to test soccer skills with the Fort Worth Vaqueros, playtime with bubbles, and treats from local favorites like Melt Ice Creams, Beyond the Box Catering, and Lemon Tina Lemonade. There will also be a meet-and-greet with the museum’s dino mascot, Dynamo. The event takes place from 10 am-2 pm.

Art Break! Spring Break at the Modern

During this special spring break event, taking place March 16-20, The Modern will encourage families to slow down, stop, and learn a little bit more about some favorite works from their permanent collection and new special exhibition, Rashid Johnson: A Poem for Deep Thinkers. Each station includes a conversation with a community artist and Modern docent, and a gallery project focusing on selected works in the galleries. As a bonus, admission is free for all at the Modern during those five days, and complimentary hot dogs and lemonade will be given to kids at Café Modern on Monday, March 16. The museum opens daily at 11 am.

Spring Break at the Carter: Focus on Photos

Kids and families visiting the Amon Carter Museum of American Art from March 17-20 can spend spring break taking snapshots at the museum. The event includes gallery games, art-making activities, creativity challenges, and more inspired by Carter artworks and history-making photographs in their current special exhibition, “Black Photojournalism.” While the museum opens at 10 am daily during those days, the event itself runs from 1-4 pm. Admission is free.

Butterflies in the Garden

The Fort Worth Botanic Garden recently opened its annual Butterflies in the Garden event, the largest exhibit of live, exotic butterflies in North Central Texas. Visitors will have the chance to see a diverse collection of butterflies from various parts of the world, including the popular Blue Morpho. The event opens daily at 10 am.

On Wednesday, March 18, the Fort Worth Aviation Museum will complement their collection of vintage airplanes and indoor permanent exhibitions with a special craft day. They will have a variety different types of crafts available for kids, who will get in for free when accompanied by an adult.

Guests can visit during the day or experience the excitement of Dinos After Dark, which will feature themed events on select dates. Open daily, March 14-29.

Train-A-Palooza

The annual Train-A-Palooza includes sales tables, working model train layouts, and train-related toys. Exhibitors include TCA North Texas Chapter, North Texas T-Track, North Texas Brick Society, Texas Special, On30 Outlaws, Merle Wait, and DFW O Scale Modelers. The Choo Choo Express trackless train will provide train rides in the parking lot. Open on March 14 and 15 at Grapevine Convention Center.

Anne of Green Gables

The Mid Cities Arts Collective presents Anne of Green Gables, a classic novel about an orphan girl, Anne Shirley, coming to life on stage. There will be four performances – March 14 and 15 and March 20 and 21 – at Platinum Music Complex NRH.

Disney On Ice: Jump In!

In the latest Disney On Ice production, classic characters Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy use the Magical MousePad to journey into the heart of other Disney tales, including Moana 2 and Inside Out 2, bringing new characters like Anxiety to the ice for the first time. There will be eight performances, March 19-22.

The Spongebob Musical

Casa Mañana presents The Spongebob Musical, where Spongebob Squarepants, the iconic optimistic sponge, goes on a quest to save his fellow fish from certain doom in The Spongebob Musical. When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their home, SpongeBob and his friends must band together to save their aquatic world. The musical – featuring a score by artists like Cyndi Lauper, David Bowie, Sara Bareilles, John Legend, and Panic! At the Disco – is presented here in a “Theatre for Young Audiences Edition.” It will run March 21-April 12 at Casa Mañana Theatre.

The Fort Worth Botanic Garden presents Blooms & Beats, the spring portion of the monthly Blooms & Beats, a family-friendly series that combines the beauty of nature with the joy of music and local flavors. The event will kick off on Friday, March 13. Guests can enjoy spring in the Garden while listening to live music performances by local artists. There will also be offerings from Fort Worth food trucks, yard games, and a selection of adult beverages.

Cliburn Kids on the Road

As part of their continuing outreach to the community, The Cliburn will present a series of special Cliburn Kids on the Road concerts around the area during spring break. They’ll be at Golden Triangle Library and East Regional Library on March 16, Southwest Regional Library on March 18, Burleson Public Library on March 19, and Clifford Crossing Library on March 21. Hosted by Sara Doan and featuring pianist Cecilia Kao, each features a 45-minute interactive program that blends music, movement, storytelling, and word games to spark creativity and inspire reading, writing, listening, and imagination.

Movie Nights

Movie lovers can enjoy some al fresco entertainment during spring break as Levitt Pavilion in Arlington presents Disney’s Encanto on March 18 and Disney/Pixar’s Cars on March 19.
