The park offers breathtaking hiking trails and a variety of natural wonders, including Loricato pine trees. For those interested in history, Matera is a must-visit. It’s one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, with a rich history dating back nearly 10,000 years. The Sassi di Matera, a network of cave dwellings, are a testament to the region’s ancient heritage.

Unique Cuisine and Local Delights

The cuisine of Basilicata is as diverse as its landscapes. While many are familiar with Italy’s classic dishes like pizza and pasta, each region has its own specialties. In Basilicata, the food reflects the region’s historical challenges, with dishes that are both hearty and flavorful.
